Military Liaison Program Military members from all the services employed at DARPA fall into two categories: 1) officers who act as liaisons between DARPA and their service, and 2) officers who are program managers. The liaison officers are special assistants to the Director and other directorate offices within DARPA, and are responsible for providing military advice to senior decision-makers concerning the deployment, employment, and execution of technology use within the Services’ force structure options. They facilitate the flow of requirements and capabilities between DARPA and the Services and assist in program technology insertion at various operational levels of our armed forces. Due to the knowledge required, these special assistants are typically colonels who have extensive operational and staff experience. The service liaison positions are nominative, joint duty billets. Program managers are usually officers who have vision, an innovative spirit, and an extensive scientific or technical background. They are assigned to DARPA to work on innovative technologies and to find solutions to pressing national security concerns. To be seriously considered for a program manager position within DARPA, you should be prepared to discuss technical ideas that you wish to champion if selected to join the Agency. The emphasis should be on truly innovative technologies and solutions to pressing national security concerns. DARPA is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D
