Carrier Manpower Reduction Study (CMRS)

DARPATechnology solutions that could lead to the reduction of crew size requirements for future and current aircraft carrier design. We are interested in a broad range of prospective technologies, including those in industry, government, and academia that could be applied to carrier design. Technology maturity from the present to year 2030 shall be examined, but with an emphasis on the near term (technology that could be incorporated into ship design within the next ten years). Promising technologies will be included in the DARPA/Navy Carrier Manpower Reduction Study being performed by DARPA for the Chief of Naval Operations and Program Executive Officer - Aircraft Carriers.
