BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT (BAA) 07-01, STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGIES

The purpose of this notice is to add several technical topic areas to the previously issued BAA and Proposer Information Pamphlet (PIP). Proposals may be submitted to BAA07-01 through 31 December 2008. The additions to the technical topic areas are highlighted below:

In the PIP, Paragraph 1.1 Technical Topic Areas, make the following changes:

Under Paragraph 1.1.V, Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Defense, add Paragraphs d. and e. as follows:

d. Collection technology for atmospheric, terrestrial, and marine samples

e. Automated chemical analysis of trace materials

Under Paragraph 1.1.VI, Small Unit Operations, add Paragraphs ee. and ff. as follows:

ee. UAV and aircraft icing detection and risk mitigation technologies

ff. Novel technologies and systems to identify threats prior to building entry

Under Paragraph 1.1.VIII, Core Strategic Technologies, add Paragraphs j. through m. as follows:

j. Exploitation of human visual psychophysics for efficiently conveying or hiding information

k. Materials and composites with spatially tunable elastic properties

l. Radiation damage to microelectronic systems

m. Long-range sensing of WMD development and deployment; countermeasures

An updated Word version of the BAA and PIP has been uploaded as part of this announcement and incorporates the changes highlighted above.
