Novel Satellite Communications

The Novel Satellite Communications program is developing technologies that enable robust, high-data rate (>500 kbps) satellite communications for mobile warfighters with handheld radios, even when the warfighter is located close to multiple jammers.

The NSC Program is creating and testing mainbeam anti-jam signal processing and coding techniques, quantifying the interaction between these techniques and other parts of the SATCOM system; determining the requirements for the signal processing, coding and decoding hardware and assessing the overall communications performance in the presence of mainbeam jamming.
