Description

The Tactical Technology Office (TTO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) solicited proposals for Phase I of the FALCON program on July 29, 2003 (BAA 03-35). It solicited Phase I proposals for two tasks; Task I entitled Small Launch Vehicles (SLV) and Task II entitled Hypersonic Weapon System (HWS). Awards have subsequently been made for both tasks. The Phase I solicitation stated that both tasks would be competed in Phase II via full and open competition. This announcement serves notice that Phase II, Task II of the FALCON program will now be conducted through a limited competition among the current contractors, Lockheed Martin, Palmdale, CA; Northrop Grumman, El Segundo, CA; Andrews Space, Seattle WA; and Boeing, St Louis, MO. Phase II, Task I will still be conducted via full and open competition. A Program Solicitation for Phase II, Task I is currently planned for release in the April/May 2004 timeframe. This special notice is not a request for proposals. See note number 22.
